Well, most disc read error problem will be cause by the laser lens fail to function. If your playstation 2 console encounter disc read error, first you will need to try your console with few of game disc to see whether it is readable or not. If not, then you can try with Music CD. If the music CD is working, then you just need to clean your laser lens; if the console still show disc read error, then you will need to replace your laser lens.
