For a new set of console, Sony Entertainment will be giving one year warranty on its hardware. In other words, you can send your console to Sony Entertainment for repair or changing parts at free of charge. But they will charge the repair fees or changing of parts once the warranty period is over. The charge is about USD 50.00 per service. Alternatively you can also send it to any other repair shop for repair. Their charge is much lower compare with what Sony Entertainment will charge you. Usually they will give 2 weeks of warranty upon collection of console by you. You can also repair it ( usually the minor one ) by DIY basis as there are some websites that provide free tutorial on this.
