Please let me elaborate a bit more in Bluray disc, ok? :) As you know, playstation 2 use DVD as game media. A piece of Double layer DVD can store about 9 Gigs of game data; and a piece of bluray disc can store 54 Gigs of game data. You might ask :"So what?"

You know, the resolution in the TV screen is build up by small pixels, just like our computer screen. If in the same size of TV screen, and it has more pixels quantity, the graphics will be more clear and nice; and if we require more pixels quantity, we need to have more storage space in the media to store for more pixel data.

In shorts, more storage space in the bluray disc, allow the game developer to put efforts in develop the game graphic that is more nice and clear.

The same concept apply to the HD movies as well. The movies file that store in the bluray disc have much more bigger file size that the DVD unable to afford to stored; which the movies that play with the bluray disc have much more clear picture compare to the movie that play with DVD due to the quantity of pixels, you get the idea,right :)

PS3 System has build in with the hard disk to allow you to download the game data, movies files and musics files into your playstation 3 hard disk before you can start playing them.

This process enable the games or movies to run more smoothly in your playstation 3 compare to run in the bluray disc straight away; as I told you earlier, the file size in the bluray disc is too big..

Besides, most playstation 3 console allow you to connect to internet and play online playstation 3 games with other gamers. It is free to play the online playstation 3 games ( Of course, you shall have the original bluray disc game, not the pirated copy. ) You just need to pay your internet service provider fees :)
